REMINDER: ALL-INVITED EVENTS

A friendly reminder that in order for an event to be reported in the “all-invited” category on an organization’s corresponding lobbying report it must meet both of the following requirements:

  1. Be a dinner, party, or reception;
  2. to which all Members of the General Assembly or all Members of either chamber of the General Assembly are invited to attend. See, Ohio Lobbying Handbook at p. 18.

What does NOT qualify as an “all-invited” event?

  1. A reception to which only a regional delegation or Members of one political party are invited.
  2. A reception where the invitation was sent to a select group of Members but for which the organizer would not deny entry/kick out Members who were not specifically invited.
  3. Gifts (books, concert tickets, etc.) even when given to all Members of the General Assembly cannot be reported as an “all-invited event” because it is NOT a dinner, party, or reception.
