Lobbying Registration Threshholds

The three main triggers for lobbyist registration are:

  • Compensation – you must receive something of value in exchange for your efforts;
  • Direct Communication – may be either written or verbal; and
  • Amount of compensated time lobbying –

 Legislative – 5% or more of your compensated time

 Executive – 25% or more of your compensated time

 Retirement – 25% or more of your compensated time
