JLEC is comprised of twelve members of the General Assembly, six each from the two major political parties from each Chamber. The six members of the House of Representatives are appointed by the Speaker of the House; the six members of the Senate are appointed by the President of the Senate. Each appointed member of JLEC serves during his or her term with the General Assembly.
